large unique villa perfect for groups of friends or family. Stunning sea views and back drop of the mountains is the setting for Kibar Ev. Oozing character and charm it is truly paradise.
Built and equipped for large groups/families we have included many old original features, large and spacious this 5 bedroom 4 bathroom house is surrounded by olive trees and tropical plants and this established mediterranean garden fills the air with scents of lavender, herbs and jasmine.
The large pool is a calm natural lagoon with seats running along the shallow end for sitting, watching, enjoying and keeping cool.
During the hot summer months the house feels naturally cool due to its thick stone walls and positioning versus sun. All 5 bedrooms have a/c and fans.
The bedrooms layout is 2 with double beds these are en-suite, and 3 twin bedded rooms, we also have 2 portable beds for children if required plus a cot.
Our kitchen is fully equipped to cater for a large number of guests with our outside seating area to bring everyone together. There are different areas in the garden where it is possible to get away from the crowd and just sit and read or watch the bees and insects enjoying their busy lives.
We are walking distance to the small village of Ozankoy and a 5 minute drive to Bellapais, local super markets and beaches 5-10 mins drive.
Plenty of outside areas to eat with a large covered area for sitting keeping cool.
For our winter guests we have central heating and 2 log fires, all beds have duvets, just as the house keeps cool in summer it is also warm and cosy in winter with the fires glowing and candles flickering its a lovely place to just be.
The village of Bellapais is a historical village most famous for its 13th century gothic abbey and ties to the british author, Lawrence Durrell, who made it his home during the 1950's whilst writing his classic book Bitter Lemons. A peaceful village filled with local cafes and restaurants, family run, offering both local and international cuisine. This village has a calm vibe, peaceful and charming whether you want a restful cold drink or coffee or indeed a full 3 course meal, you feel you are in a by-gone era surrounded by beautiful views down to Kyrenia and the mediterranean sea, with the mountains soaring above all whilst sitting next to the majestic abbey.
Kyrenia harbour is often called the Jewel in the mediterranean and not without reason, it is a picturesque horseshoe shaped harbour which has recently been restored, full of little bars and beautiful restaurants, definitely worth a visit, overlooked by the huge Kyrenia castle, built originally as a crusader castle during 1200 AD and 1480 AD within the walls you will find a Byzantine church, the shipwreck museum and many other interesting historical pieces of information.
Beaches are many and most within a short drive of the house, the sea is clean and clear and is home to the nesting sites of world protected turtles, North Cyprus is part of the turtle protection who's large team of volunteers are helping to save these huge creatures from harm and distinction, at certain times of the year it is possible to view the nests and/or to watch the baby turtles hatch and make their way down to the sea, if you are lucky enough to be swimming at the right time you may just view the adult turtles in the sea, waiting for sundown to come onto the beaches and make their nests, a truly incredible sight and experience that will stay with you forever.
